This is a simple test a made to simulate volume inside a ball using a cloth sim in 3ds Max. I did this in 2 stages. First I simulated the ball by itself in a cloth sim applying Unyielding kinematics. Basically I animated the ball translating up on the z axis and let the sim take over afterward. I baked the animation into the object and made another sim in which the cloth plane reacts to the previous animation.

cool but the only downside is that you have to pay. Will you be able to show a tutorial on how you create your characters though it would help
